The Edwardsville Tigers picked up a non-conference victory at St. Dominic in O'Fallon, Mo. on Wednesday, winning in straight sets, 27-25, 25-17.
The Tigers improved to 11-8 with the win.
They were led by Nick Allen, who produced eight kills, seven digs, eight service points and two aces. Curt Sellers chipped in with five kills and one block. Will Bode also had a solo block.
Unfortunately for EHS, senior setter Mike Horton left the match with a dislocated finger. Horton dished out 13 assists before having to leave early in the second game. He was replaced by junior Ben Lombardi, who had five assists in limited action and kept the offense percolating.
Edwardsville now sits idle until 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when it travels to O'Fallon to battle the Southwestern Conference rival Panthers. The Tigers will be looking to avenge a three-set loss to OTHS at Lucco-Jackson Gymnasium on March 31.
