ST. LOUIS — The 20th annual Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up and the Cardinals Caravan highlight a busy weekend that kicks off the 2016 baseball season.
The Winter Warm-Up — the largest fund-raising effort for the team’s charitable fund, Cardinals Care — returns to the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch Saturday through Monday. The 2016 Cardinals Caravan, presented by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance, departs Busch Stadium on Friday morning. Over the course of the weekend, more than 30 current and former players will make a combined 22 stops in 21 cities throughout Cardinals Nation along six routes before returning to St. Louis on Monday night. And the 58th annual Baseball Writers Dinner will take place at the Marriott Grand Hotel on Sunday night. Fans will enjoy a night of fun and entertainment as the dinner celebrates the 2015 Central Division Champion Cardinals and commemorates the 10th anniversary of the 2006 World Championship with members of both teams. The evening will be highlighted by special guests and the presentation of the J.G. Taylor Spink St. Louis Baseball Man of the Year, the Herman/Ostermeier Award for Rookie of the Year and the winner of the Darryl Kile Award.
