ST. LOUIS — Champions Basketball League is bringing players straight out of the NBA to showcase their skills during a basketball game at Chaifetz Arena on the Saint Louis University campus. It’s set for 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29.
This competitive men’s charity basketball game features professional and All Star athletes on the court and Hall of Famers on the bench as coaches and game ambassadors. Built for fan fun, the event proceeds will benefit the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund at The V Foundation and St. Louis area charities.
Champions League players will feature former NBA standouts, including St. Louisan Larry Hughes and Corey Maggette. Theo Ratliff, Brandon Roy, Rip Hamilton, Al Harrington and others are expected to participate. Additional players will serve as game day ambassadors to meet and greet fans.
While the players, competition level, halftime show and venue are all pro, the fan experience will be up-close and personal. There will be opportunities for player meet-and-greets, ball kids, fan “tunnels” for player entrances, and recognition of area collegiate and youth basketball teams and coaches.
