Marlee Clouatre, of Civic Memorial High School, has signed a letter of intent with Quincy University.
The Quincy University women’s golf team announced the signing of Marlee Clouatre, of Civic Memorial High School, to a National Letter of Intent on April 17.
“I am very pleased to have Marlee join our golf family here at QU,” head coach Nick Meyers said. “Marlee comes to Quincy with a list of great accomplishments and will add to the depth of our team.”
During her prep years at Civic Memorial, Clouatre was the three-time Madison County small school champion and two-time Gateway JR PGA Player of the Year. She was twice named the team's MVP.
Clouatre also was the Mississippi Valley Conference Champion and a two-time member of the All-Mississippi Valley Conference team. She holds the Civic Memorial record for lowest stroke average and finished third at the IHSA Regional; Clouatre was fourth at the IJGA Sectional and qualified for the IHSA State Tournament.
“Our program is at the stage where we are done rebuilding, and ready to start competing now,” Myers said. “The current players on our roster have a wealth of playing experience, and by adding depth, we are gearing up to make a big jump at all of our events.
“Marlee brings a lot of competitiveness and the experience of being a winner. Combining that with the current leadership on our team, we hope to build into a highly successful women’s golf program.”
Clouatre plans to major in nursing at Quincy University. She is the daughter of Marvin and Marlene Clouatre.
The Lady Hawks conclude their 2013-14 season next weekend (April 26-27) at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in Waterloo at Annbriar Golf Course.
