The all-conference boys' and girls' basketball teams for the Prairie State Conference were released recently with Marquette Catholic and East Alton-Wood River garnering attention.
EA-WR is in the PSC for the first time in '14-15. The Oilers were happy to be back in a conference with the opportunity to rack up some league awards.
Junior leading scorer Blake Marks and senior and member of the 1,000-point club at EA-WR, Mike Stimac, both grabbed first-team honors in boys' basketball.
The Explorers saw junior leading scorer Shandon Boone get a nod for the first-team. It was Boone's first season at Marquette after transferring from CBC in the offseason. He proved to be a valuable addition to the Explorers.
Marquette senior Max Goepel earned an honorable mention for his efforts also.
On the girls' basketball side, senior Claire Snider of the Explorers was a first-team pick, as well as senior Kari Westbrook of the Oilers.
Marquette's Andria Pace got recognized with honorable mention status.
There were not all-conference teams picked for wrestling or bowling in the PSC.
