July 20 question: What Edwardsville High basketball standout played for both the St. Louis and Atlanta Hawks in the NBA?
Answer: Don Ohl graduated from Edwardsville High in 1954 and after playing at the University of Illinois went on to a 10-year NBA career, where he was a 5-time all-star. He ended his career playing for the St. Louis Hawks the last half of ‘67-68 before making the move with the Atlanta Hawks the next season. He retired in Atlanta after the ‘69-70 season.
