After a year hiatus, Abigail Crabtree is back on the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association all-state team.
Crabtree, a junior, was Edwardsville’s lone representative on the 60-member all-state team. She earned all-state honors in her freshman season.
Crabtree was the Tigers’ leading scorer with a career-high 16 goals, surpassing her old record of 15 set in her freshman year. She also helped Edwardsville finish with an 18-3-1 record.
Granite City junior Lexi Grote also was named on the all-state team, making it the first time since 2012 a Granite City player earned all-state honors. Last year, Grote was named on the all-sectional team.
Grote was one of the Warriors’ top scorers with a career-high 10 goals. She also helped her team win its second straight regional championship.
Jane Ann Crabtree and Ashlin West of Edwardsville, Grace Neidhardt of Granite City, Alton’s Bri Hatfield, Roxana’s Emma Lucas and Marquette Catholic's Annabelle Copeland and Ketaura Ngwa were named on the all-sectional team.
Calista Cox and Alaina Nasello of Alton and Granite City’s Rian Hutson were named on the honorable mention all-sectional team.
