Colvin was too much to handle for the Highland Bulldogs on Dec. 10 at East Alton Ice Arena.
The Granite City junior scored four goals to lift the Warriors to their second win of the season. Granite City beat Highland 7-4 to snap a six-game losing streak.
The performance earned Colvin this week’s Granite City AdVantage News Athlete of the Week award.
Against Highland, Colvin scored his first goal with nine minutes left in the first period. Six minutes later, he scored his second goal to give the Warriors a 3-2 lead they didn’t relinquish.
Colvin scored his third goal with six seconds left in the second period, making him the first Granite City player this season to score a hat trick. He scored his fourth goal with 1:10 remaining in the third.
With his four goals against Highland, Colvin is now the team’s leader in goals with seven. He also scored a goal in the Warriors’ 10-2 loss to Alton on Dec. 17. Colvin has 12 points in 11 games.
Colvin also helped the Warriors avenge the 3-2 loss to Highland on Nov. 3 at Wilson Park Ice Rink.
