He helped the South Roxana Post 1167 Senior American Legion baseball team win the Greater Midwest Baseball All-Star Championships over the past weekend. Twin City went 4-0 in the tournament.
Davis won the second game of the tourney on the mound, a 7-1 victory over the South Side Dirt Bags. He allowed one run on three hits, while fanning seven and divvying out two free passes. He also went 2-for-3 with a double, a RBI, a run scored and a walk in the win.

Baseball | Drake Hampton
Hampton is heating up for the Metro East Bears. The 2015 Alton High grad and Lewis and Clark Community College player had a big week last week as the Bears went 3-0 to close the regular season.
On July 7, Hampton went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in a 20-0 rout of Kirkwood at Hoppe Park.
He followed that up with 3-for-4 day that included a double, two RBIs and two stolen bases on July 8 during a 9-1 victory over the Southern Illinois Batter’s Box.
Then in the regular season finale on July 10, an 8-1 win over Lemay, Hampton tossed a scoreless inning on the hill, striking out the side.
He will be a key cog for the Post 199/126 Senior American Legion baseball team as they delve into the postseason this week. The Bears entered the week with a 15-4 record.
