Answer: Harry Gallatin, a 1944 graduate of Roxana, is a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame after playing in the NBA from 1948-58 with the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons. He later coached for the St. Louis Hawks and Knicks, SIU Carbondale and SIUE, becoming the first athletics director for the Cougars. He won the NBA Coach of the Year Award with the Hawks.
