Bryan Hudson had everything going his way Tuesday night for the Alton High baseball team.
The 6-foot-7 junior lefty supplied three hits and five innings of solid pitching as the surging Redbirds defeated Moline 9-3 at Moore Park. Alton, now 4-1, has won four in succession.
Hudson struck out 11 in five innings and permitted five hits and three runs. He shut out the visitors until the fifth.
Alton, which made the most of eight hits, scored three runs in the second and sixth innings. The Redbirds built a 5-0 lead and never looked back. Aaron Bonnell had two hits to support Hudson’s outing. Nick Cauley pitched the final two innings.
The Birds are scheduled to play today at Cahokia and tangle with Civic Memorial in an 11 p.m. doubleheader Saturday at the Bethalto Sports Complex.
