EA-WR TOPPLES DUPO — The East Alton-Wood River Oilers toppled the Dupo Tigers 70-55 on Friday at Memorial Gym in nonconference action.
The win raised the Oilers to 5-12 on the season. Dupo fell to 3-13.
Luke Wells stirred the attack for EA-WR with 18 points. Blake Marks chipped in with 12 points. Altogether 10 Oilers contributed to the offense.
EA-WR led 14-6 after one quarter and owned a 33-19 advantage at halftime on the way to the victory.
The Oilers now head to their big rivalry showdown with the Roxana Shells at 2:30 p.m. today to open the Litchfield Invitational.
ROXANA TRAMPLES STAUNTON — The Roxana Shells picked up a lopsided 63-31 victory over the Staunton Bulldogs on Friday in South Central Conference play on the road.
With the victory the Shells are now 11-6 overall and 2-2 in the SCC.
Roxana gets back in action at 2:30 p.m. today vs. crosstown rival East Alton-Wood River at the Litchfield Invitational.
MARQUETTE DRILLS BRUSSELS — The Marquette Catholic Explorers drilled the Brussels Raiders Friday at MCHS by the score of 59-19 in a nonconference affair.
Marquette is now 12-3 following the triumph. It was the sixth consecutive win for the Explorers.
They return to the court at 7 p.m. tonight against the host Panthers to open the Jersey Tournament.
