EA-WR 8, GRANITE CITY 5 — EA-WR's Peyton Young went 3-for-5 and scored 2 runs as the catalyst in the Oilers' win. Carly Campbell and Haley Shewmake provided homers for EA-WR, too.
Rebecca Null earned the win in the circle.
Granite City received a home run and two RBIs from Khaly Bettorf in the losing effort. Bettorf, Tressa Scarborough, Caitlin Patrick, Mady Winfield and Morgan Fazio all had two hits to tie for the lead for the Warriors.
Morgan Tanksley took the pitching loss.
EA-WR is now 4-7 after the win, while GCHS dipped to 4-6 with the loss.
ROXANA 11, GREENVILLE 0, FIVE INNINGS — The Roxana Shells improved to 5-6 overall and 3-0 in the South Central Conference with the triumph.
Ashley Betts, Phoebe Booher, Alexis Counts and Hannah Rexford paced the Shells with two hits apiece. Counts led the way with two RBIs.
Rexford tossed a one-hitter in the circle, fanning seven and walking one to get the win.
CM 13, CAHOKIA 0, FIVE INNINGS — Susan Buchanan was 3-for-3 with a double, triple and 2 RBIs to spark the Eagles in the win. Jenna Parmentier, Isabella Roberts and Katelyn Turbyfill all had 2 hits in the win also, while Parmentier drove in a pair of runs.
Kaitlynn Wrenn garnered the win, while Ryan Allison pitched in relief.
CM is now 6-3 following the victory.
COLUMBIA 4, MARQUETTE 2 — The Explorers sank to 2-5 with the loss.
They were led by Emma Taylor who was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. Tess Eberlin absorbed the loss in the circle.
ROXANA 8, GREENVILLE 3 — The Shells improved to 3-7 overall and 3-0 in the South Central Conference with Monday's road victory.
Trace Gentry had three hits and three RBIs to guide the attack, while Blake Vandiver also chipped in three hits.
Drew Ratliff was the winning pitcher.
GIBAULT 12, MARQUETTE 6 — Marquette tallied five hits from Zach Weinman, Liam Maher, Konnor Morrissey, Jacob File and Jayce Maag in the losing effort. Maag and File each had triples, while Maag scored three runs.
File was the losing pitcher, as the Explorers sank to 4-6 on the season.
HIGHLAND 4, GRANITE CITY 1 — The Granite City Warriors are now 2-8 following the loss.
B.J. Niesporek stirred the offense with a 3-for-4 day at the plate. Bailey Thompson logged the lone RBI for GCHS.
Trent Jones went the distance on the hill, absorbing the loss while striking out eight and only walking one on five hits. All four runs were unearned.
COLLINSVILLE 7, CM 1 — The Eagles dipped to 5-6-1 on the season with the loss at Collinsville.
ALTHOFF 18, MELHS 3, FIVE INNINGS — Metro East Lutheran had just four hits in its five-inning loss at Althoff Monday. The hits were provided by: Jordan Brown, Mikey Coulson, Chase Langendorf and Reed Harmon.
Coulson, Corby Johannpeter and John Hubbard had RBIs in the loss, while Coulson took the loss on the mound.
MELHS is now 4-8.
JERSEY 10, EA-WR 0, FIVE INNINGS — The Oilers slipped to 2-10 with Monday's loss at home.
MATER DEI 3, CM 1 — Cassie Hall scored CM's lone goal in the second half on Monday at the Bethalto Sports Complex to keep the Eagles from getting shutout. Mackenzie Dixon supplied the assist.
The Eagles are now 3-4-2 on the season.
STAUNTON 4, MELHS 2 — The Knights are now 0-4 on the season following Monday's loss on the road.
Abby Yurchuk scored the first goal of the season for MELHS on an assist from Kathrine Lange. Hannah Landers tallied the other goal, while Yurchuk assisted.
MARQUETTE 8, MELHS 1 — Marquette received singles wins from: Nick McCune, Daniel McCluskey, Joe Segneri, Peter Wendle and Tom Morrissey, while doubles victories came from: McCluskey and Nathan Walters, John Claywell and Segneri and Wendle and Alex Cousley.
MELHS' lone win came at No. 1 singles from Kendrick Norwood.
