TIGERS BLANK OILERS — The Edwardsville Tigers continued their dominance in the Mississippi Valley Club Hockey Association (MVCHA) on Thursday, blanking the East Alton-Wood River Oilers 12-0 at the East Alton Ice Arena.
The Tigers improved to 3-0 with the win, while the Oilers dipped to 0-4 on the young season.
The match was called due to the mercy rule with 2:39 remaining in the second period. Edwardsville outshot the Oilers 25-3 in the contest.
EHS led 6-0 at the close of the first period with Carson Lewis picking up four of his five assists from the game during the opening frame.
EA-WR will look for that elusive first win when it returns to the ice against Alton at 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 19 in East Alton.
