MARQUETTE CATHOLIC 146, COLUMBIA 161, TRIAD 173 – The Explorers improve to 10-1 by defeating Columbia and Triad in a triangular match on Tuesday at Rolling Hills in Golf Course in Godfrey.
Marquette had six golfers shoot under 40. Michael Holtz led the way with a 35 and earned medalist honors. Duncan McLain fired a 36, Nick Messinger had a 37, Kolten Bauer shot a 38 and Jack Patterson and Sam Cogan each shot a 39.
The Explorers will play a dual match against Carrollton at 4 p.m. Thursday at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.
EDWARDSVILLE 148, BELLEVILLE WEST 177 – Junior Ben Tyrrell shot a 35 to lead the Tigers to an easy victory over the Maroons on Tuesday at Belk Park Golf Course.
Tyrrell earned medalist honors.
Isaac Garrett shot a 36, Blake Burris fired a 38 and Tanner White, Jon Ratterman, Spencer Patterson and Luke Babington each finished with a 39 for Edwardsville, which improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in Southwestern Conference play and plays Belleville East on Thursday at Clinton Hills Golf Course.
CIVIC MEMORIAL 196, HILLSBORO 208, LITCHFIELD 220, PANA 227 – The Eagles improved to 11-9 with a victory in a quadrangular match against Hillsboro, Litchfield and Pana on Tuesday at Litchfield Country Club.
CM’s Isabella Roberts shared medalist honors with Litchfield’s Brielle Martin with a 43. Also for the Eagles, Maisey Watson shot a 50, Carmen Phillips finished with a 51 and Sophie Blagoue had a 52.
CM, which won its third straight quadrangular match, will compete in the Belleville East Par 3 Tournament on Thursday at Yorktown Golf Course.
MARQUETTE 173, TRIAD 215, ROXANA AND JERSEY N/A – Ellie Kane fired a 40 to lift the Explorers to a win in a quadrangular match on Tuesday at Belk Park Golf Course.
Kane shared medalist honors with Jersey’s Hannah Taylor. Marquette’s Lauren Walsh was runner-up with a 41.
Roxana and Jersey each had two players, so they didn’t have a team score.
Marquette will have a quadrangular match against Triad, Edwardsville and Sacred Heart-Griffin on Wednesday at Oak Brook Golf Course.
Roxana’s next match will be on Sept. 20 against Triad, Althoff and Waterloo at Belk Park.
EDWARDSVILLE 185, MATER DEI 199, ALTHOFF 201, FREEBURG 207 – Addy Zeller shot a team-best 41 to lead the Tigers to a win in a quadrangular match on Tuesday at Stonewolf Golf Course.
Kayla Weinacht shot a 45, Sydney Sahuri fired a 49 and Paige Hamel finished with a 50 for Edwardville, which is now 11-0 and plays a quadrangular match with Marquette Catholic, Triad and Sacred Heart-Griffin on Wednesday at Oak Brook Golf Course.
ROXANA DEF. EA-WR 25-10, 25-14 – The Shells bounced back from a loss to Civic Memorial on Monday by knocking off the Oilers in a match between crosstown rivals on Tuesday at Roxana.
Roxana improved to 10-5 and travels to Litchfield on Thursday to play the Panthers in a South Central Conference match.
For the Shells, Taylor Westfall had 12 service points with five aces, Braeden Lackey pounded out eight kills, Niah Bevolo had 17 assists, Abby Palen finished with 10 digs, Abby Kurth had seven service points with two aces, Hannah Kelley and Lindsey Cameron each had one block, Brittany Alexander had four digs and Taylor Jackson finished with three kills.
HIGHLAND DEF. CIVIC MEMORIAL 25-13, 25-8 – The Eagles began their Mississippi Valley Conference play on Tuesday with a loss to the Bulldogs on the road.
CM dropped to 8-6. The Eagles will play Waterloo in another conference match on Thursday at home.
CM will play Highland again at 9 a.m. Saturday in the first match of the Granite City Fall Classic.
EDWARDSVILLE 4, COLLINSVILLE 0 – The Tigers remain undefeated after shutting out the Kahoks on Tuesday at home.
Michael Glisson, Michael Picchiotti, Riley Patterson and Bayne Noll each scored goals for Edwardsville, which improved to 7-0-2 overall and 3-0-1 in Southwestern Conference play.
The Tigers’ next match will be at Normal West at 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
MASCOUTAH 3, CIVIC MEMORIAL 1 – The Eagles dropped to 0-4 in Mississippi Valley Conference play with a loss to the Indians on Tuesday at Mascoutah.
On Aug. 27, CM defeated Mascoutah 2-1 in the Metro Cup championship. With the loss to the Indians on Wednesday, the Eagles are now 5-4 after starting their season at 5-0.
CM has been outscored 19-2 during its four-game losing streak. The Eagles will play Jerseyville at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at home.
FATHER MCGIVNEY 2, FREEBURG 2 – Aaron Boulanger and Eli Skubish each scored a goal in the Griffins’ tie with the Midgets on Tuesday at home.
Father McGivney is now 6-1-3 and will play Breese Central at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at home.
ROXANA 8, GRANITE CITY 1 – The Shells won six singles matches and two doubles matches to pull off a road win over the Warriors on Tuesday.
Roxana will play a home match against Hillsboro on Thursday. Granite City will play Marquette Catholic on Thursday at Lewis and Clark Community College.
EDWARDSVILLE 9, BELLEVILLE WEST 0 – The Tigers remain undefeated in Southwestern Conference play with a win over the Maroons on Tuesday at Belleville.
Morgan Colbert, Natalie Karibian, Grace Desse, Mackenzie Cadagin, Maria Mezo and Abby Cimarolli won singles matches. The doubles teams of Colbert/Desse, Karibian/Cimarolli and Cadagin/Mezo also picked up victories.
Edwardsville plays at Belleville East on Thursday.
JERSEY 4, ALTON 3 – The Redbirds dropped to 3-5 in dual action with a loss to the Panthers on Tuesday.
Abby Fisher won a singles match and the Redbirds had victories in No. 2 (Betsey Papin and Maddie Saenz) and No. 3 doubles (Lexi Mayfield and Molly Gross).
Alton will play Belleville East in a home Southwestern Conference match on Wednesday.
GREENVILLE 8, METRO EAST LUTHERAN 1 – The Knights fell to the Comets on Tuesday at Greenville College.
MELHS’ next match will be Thursday against Civic Memorial at home.
EDWARDSVILLE 3, JOHN BURROUGHS 0 – Veronica Carrow, Annie Mulford and Ansley Dorsey each scored goals for the Tigers in their road match with John Burroughs on Tuesday in St. Louis.
Sarah Blume recorded the shutout in goal for Edwardsville, which improved to 6-2-1 and plays Parkway West on Thursday.
