ROXANA 1, MASCOUTAH 0, EA-WR TOURNAMENT FINALS — Roxana's Emma Lucas scored a second-half goal and Alyssa Copeland added the assist. Braeden Lackey made 10 saves in goal, picking up her third shutout win of the season.
The Shells improved to 5-1-1 with their second straight EA-WR Tourney title.
EDWARDSVILLE 5, GIBAULT 0 — Edwardsville's Megan Woll scored twice, while Taylor Hansen, Mallory Mushill and Emma Sitton each tallied one goal in the win. Hansen served up three assists, while Abigail Crabtree and Mareea Grimes both had one. Regan Windau earned the shutout victory in goal.
The Tigers elevated their record to 5-2-1 with the triumph.
O'FALLON 1, MARQUETTE 0 — O'Fallon's Sam Stutsman scored a first-half goal to lead the Panthers past the Marquette Catholic Explorers at Gordon Moore Park.
Marquette dipped to 2-4-1 with the loss.
TRIAD 9, CM 1 — Triad scored four goals in the first half and tacked on five more in the second half in the win. Civic Memorial got a second-half goal from Kaity Kappler. Cassie Hall dished out the assist.
CM is now 3-3-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the Mississippi Valley Conference.
JERSEY 2, EA-WR 1, PKS, EA-WR TOURNEY — East Alton-Wood River received a second-half goal off the foot of Kara Crutchley before ultimately losing in penalty kicks to the Jersey Panthers on the final day of the EA-WR Tournament. Oiler goalie Becca Richards had seven saves in goal.
EA-WR sank to 0-6 with the setback.
ALTON 4, BELLEVILLE EAST 2, 8 INNINGS — Alton improved to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the Southwestern Conference with the win over Belleville East on the road.
Tomi Dublo cranked an eighth-inning, two-run home run, while Bronte Fencel and Tami Wong led the Redbirds in hits with two each. Fencel also had a RBI.
Brittany Roady garnered the win in the circle, tossing eight innings, fanning seven, walking none, scattering six hits and allowing two unearned runs.
BELLEVILLE WEST 4, GRANITE CITY 3 — Belleville West rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to erase a 3-1 Granite City lead to earn the win.
The Warriors were led by Caitlin Patrick who had two hits, including a homer, and one RBI. Sarah Boyd had one hit and two RBIs.
GCHS slipped to 4-3 and 1-1 in the Southwestern Conference with the loss.
ALTON 6, BELLEVILLE EAST 1 — Steven Nguyen contributed three hits and two RBIs to lead the Redbirds in the Southwestern Conference win. Robbie Taul added two hits and two RBIs, while Noah Rathgeb had two hits and one RBI and Steven Pattan pitched in with two hits.
Gary Volz earned the victory on the mound, throwing 4.2 innings, fanning eight, walking four scattering two hits. Charlie Erler pitched in relief.
Alton raised its record to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the SWC with the victory.
CM 14, FREEBURG 9 — Four home runs and a seven-run fifth inning paced CM in the win.
Brandon Carpenter, Brandon Hampton, Konnar Loewen and Geoffrey Withers all homered for the Eagles. Hampton and Collin Hall had a team-best four hits apiece, while Carpenter led in RBIs with five.
Withers earned the win, while Corey Price garnered the save.
EDWARDSVILLE 22, EAST ST. LOUIS 0, FIVE INNINGS — Collin Clayton and Will Messer had two hits apiece to pace the Edwardsville offense. Clayton hit a triple and drove in two runs in his effort.
Clayton, Jake Garella, Cole Hansel, Max Kieffer and Andrew Yancik all had two RBIs.
Jordan Yenne got the win on the hill.
EHS is now 8-1 and 2-0 in the Southwestern Conference.
BELLEVILLE WEST 11, GRANITE CITY 6 — GCHS lead 6-1 after three innings, but West plated four in the fourth and six in the sixth to pull out the win.
Collin Barrett, Austin Bonvicino and B.J. Niesporek all had triples for Granite City in the loss. Bonvicino and Niesporek led the Warriors with two RBIs each.
Granite City fell to 2-6 and 1-1 in the Southwestern Conference after the loss.
JERSEY 5, ROXANA 0 — Blake Vandiver had the lone hit for Roxana with a double. Tanner Davis absorbed the loss on the hill.
The Shells are now 1-7 on the season.
BELLEVILLE WEST 2, ALTON 0 — The Alton Redbirds lost 25-15, 25-9 to West on Thursday at AHS.
