The medals continue to pile up for Mike Young.
Young has competed in four meets in 2016 and received 17 medals, including six at the Missouri State Senior Games last weekend at the University of Missouri at Columbia. A year ago, he finished with 31 medals.
Young finished with three gold and three silver medals at the Missouri State Senior Games. He placed first in the 50 and 100-meter dashes and the 400-meter relay and placed second in the 200, long jump and triple jump. He came up one place short of getting a medal in two events, placing fourth in the 400 and the standing long jump.
Young also competed in the St. Louis Senior Olympics on May 29-30. He earned five silver medals after placing second in the 50, 100, 200, long jump and triple jump. Young earned a bronze medal after finishing third in the 400.
Young will be competing in the USATF Midwest Regional Championships on June 26 at Waukesha, Wis. He’ll also be competing in the America’s Master Games in Vancouver, B.C., on Aug 26-31 and the Huntsman World Senior Championships on Oct. 2-6 at St. George, Utah.
