There has been quite a bit of buzz surrounding Bryan Hudson's collegiate choice to play baseball.
On Friday at Alton High School, the highly-coveted 6-foot-7 southpaw pitcher made his announcement, unzipping his wind breaker during a news conference to reveal a Missouri Tiger t-shirt.
After completing his senior year at Alton, Hudson will take his talents to Columbia, Mo. and play for the talented Tigers in 2016, joining Collinsville's Tanner Houck who will be freshman at Missouri in 2015.
"I chose Mizzou mainly because my family can come see me play and because they are a newer school in the SEC (Southeastern Conference)," Hudson said. "Tanner Houck is there and he was in the (Southwestern) conference, so I'd like it while we're there for us two to be the double duo and the thing that really puts Mizzou up there."
The announcement comes prior to the start of the Alton basketball season where Hudson will be major contributor and is out of the way before his senior season of baseball.
Hudson was 9-5 with a 1.28 ERA, while striking out 114 and walking just 43 in 76.2 innings pitched as a junior for the Redbirds.
Mizzou was 20-33 overall last season.
