The Granite City Warriors football team will have its first practice of the season from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday at the football field.
The Warriors will play their first three games on the road, starting with Jerseyville on Aug. 26. They have a new opponent, Carbondale, and will play there on Sept. 2.

The other teams – volleyball, cross country and girls tennis – will have their first practices on Wednesday. The volleyball team, coached by Ginger Harrison, will have practice at Memorial Gymasium from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m., the girls tennis team, coached by Linda Ames, will have practice at 9 a.m., and the cross country team, coached by Richie Skirball, will meet at the annex, then practice from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
