Both the Class 4A Alton Regional and Class 3A Jersey Regional were delayed a day due to inclement weather and slippery roadways. The play-in games for both regionals were canceled on Monday and rescheduled for tonight.
The fifth-seeded Granite City Warriors will face No. 4 seed Quincy at 7 p.m. tonight at Alton High School. The winner of that bout advances to play top-seeded Edwardsville at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The host Redbirds and No. 3 seed, will square off with No. 2 seed Pekin in the other regional semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The regional championship showdown in Alton has been pushed back to 7 p.m. on Friday.
In Jerseyville, the rugged Class 3A Jersey Regional also suffered delays.
The opening clash at Jersey between the host Panthers, the No. 5 seed, and No. 4 Triad moved from Monday to 7 p.m. tonight in Jerseyville.
The winner of that match earns a date with No. 1 seed Highland at 6 p.m. Wednesday, while the second-seeded Civic Memorial Eagles combat No. 3 seed Breese Mater Dei at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Jersey Regional title tilt is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday.
