ALTON – Local high school runners will get plenty of fanfare Sunday.
The Alton Road Runners is holding its 10th annual Runners of the Year banquet at 6 p.m. Sunday inside the Alton Eagles Club. Edwardsville assistant coach Dustin Davis is scheduled to be the featured speaker.
Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at the door, said banquet coordinator Russ Colona, president of the Alton Road Runners. For more information, contact Colona at (618) 972-8635.
"It's a staple now," Colona said of the event. "The kids look forward to it and the coaches talk about it. The young kids are excited about it, too."
