Edwardsville’s Rachel Anderson did it again this spring.
For the fourth year in a row, Anderson was named on the Illinois Coaches Association Class 4A all-state softball team. Anderson, a senior, was named on the first team.
Anderson, who was the Tigers' top hitter with a .543 batting average, earned first-team honors in 2015, second-team honors in 2014 and was a third-team selection in 2013.
Sarah Hangsleben and Hayli Green were the other Edwardsville representatives on the all-state team. Hangsleben, who hit a team-high 11 home runs, earned second-team honors and Green, who batted
.411, received third-team notice.
Alton junior Savannah Fisher was named on the Class 4A all-state team for the second straight year. Fisher earned second-team honors after being named on the third team last year.
Fisher led Alton in hitting with a .455 batting average. She also had four home runs and 38 runs batted in.
Fisher was one of two Alton players named on the all-state team. The other was senior Brittany Roady, who was named on the third team. Roady won a career-high 22 games on the mound for the Redbirds.
Carly Campbell was East Alton-Wood River’s lone representative on the Class 2A all-state team. Campbell, a junior catcher, hit a career high .381 with three home runs and 37 RBIs.
