The TCAY Tidalwaves played host to a large Pentathlon meet on Sunday at Principia College in Elsah.
Five TCAY swimmers brought home high point honors during an impressive showing for the team.
“I am thrilled with the attendance and level of competition we had at the Pentathlon,” Tidalwaves' head coach Nancy Miller said. “Almost 500 swimmers and 15 teams. I also love the format as it gives coaches a clear picture of how stroke instruction/skill mastery are going for the season, with swimmers competing in all 4 strokes in the same day.”
High point winners for the Tidalwaves were: Mia Lopez (Girls' 6U), Christian Kotzamanis (Boys' 9-10), Eleni Kotzamanis (Girls' 11-12), Edward Roberts (Boys' 11-12) and Caden Akal (Boys' 13-14).
“Our swimmers had a terrific meet, many best times and overall improvement,” Miller said. “We also had 4 individual meet records and 1 relay record broken by the following swimmers: Mia Lopez (6U 25-fly 23.76), Nathan Kotzamanis (8U 25-fly 16.13), Eleni Kotzamanis (11-12 50-back 28.76 and 50-free at 25.59) and the Boys' 200-Free Relay in 1:34.54 with Cole Akal, Adam Seger, Caden Akal and Noah Clancy.
