The Tri-City area Tidalwaves are set to leave for the YMCA Nationals in Greensboro, N.C., which take place from March 30 to April 3.
Eight Tidalwaves' swimmers qualified for the national tournament after competing in the Heartland area Championships in Edwardsville on March 13-15.
Karoline Lauritzen, Ginny Schrank, Natalie Long and Lindsay Bruce will represent the Tri-City girls, while Addison Kaufmann, Adam Seger, Davion Conley, Matt Daniel and Cole Akal will compete for the Tri-City boys.
Daniel will compete in the men's 1,000-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly. Kaufmann, bound for Cleveland State to swim next year, will battle in the men's 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke. Conley looks to compete in the men's 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle.
On the girls' side, Schrank is entered in the 200-yard breaststroke and Bruce battles in the 100-yard backstroke.
On the men's side the Tidalwaves will also be represented in the 200-yard freestyle relay, the 400-yard medley relay, the 200-yard medley relay, the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay. The Tidalwaves will also compete in the women's 200-yard medley relay.
