GODFREY – Three Lewis and Clark Community College athletes recently received recognition from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for exemplary academic achievement.
Basketball player Milos Petrovic, softball player Sammi Elliott, and soccer player Didrik Rinde, received NJCAA Academic All American awards for 2013-14. All three athletes graduated this spring with high honors from Lewis and Clark.
“We are very proud of Milos, Sammi and Didrik for achieving academic excellence and being recognized by the NJCAA as Academic All Americans,” said Doug Stotler, LCCC athletic director.
Petrovic, of Belgrade, Serbia, earned a 3.6 GPA and received his associate in science degree in May. He will play basketball at Milligan College in Tennessee this year as he continues his higher education.
Elliott, a Civic Memorial High School graduate from Cottage Hills, earned a GPA of 3.69. She graduated in May with her associate in science degree and is attending McKendree University, where she is majoring in occupational therapy.
Rinde, of Lillehammer, Norway, earned a GPA of 3.73 and graduated in May with an associate in science. He will be playing soccer for the University of Missouri Kansas City this fall and plans to study business management.
