TWIN CITY WINS TWICE — Twin City picked up a pair of wins in the All American Classic at Saint Mary's High School in St. Louis on Friday to kick off the tournament in style.
South Roxana Post 1167 bested the Jefferson County Slam 5-1 in the first game and received a no-hitter from Logan Reardon in Game 2, besting the St. Louis Stars 2-0. Twin City improved to 16-1 on the season with the two wins.
Reardon's brilliance came in a six-inning affair where he fanned 11 and walked two, while not allowing a hit.
He added some thunder at the plate too, going 1 for 2 with a double and a RBI. Blake Lawson racked up the other RBI for Twin City in the game.
During Game 1 it was Spencer Heineman compiling a strong outing on the hill. Heineman worked seven innings, scattered three hits and struck out 12.
Offensively, Blake Vandiver was the catalyst, going 2 for 2 with a triple, walk and two runs scored. Randy Skiff complimented him, going 2 for 3 with a RBI and a run scored. Lawson had a double and a RBI, while Heineman, Blake Marks and John Whitworth all logged hits. Blake Weishaupt knocked in a RBI, too.
