The Roxana seventh-grade volleyball team is heading to state.
The junior high spikers defeated host Auburn Junior High 25-18, 25-14 in Divernon to keep their season alive on Monday. They improved to 19-1 with the victory.
Next up for Roxana is Pana Junior High at 10 a.m. Saturday in the seventh grade 3A division state quarterfinals at Maroa-Forsythe High School. Pana is 17-5.
Roxana was an undefeated conference champion and has corralled regional and sectional championships.
Members of the squad are: Macie Lucas, Jacey Trask, Reagan Stahlhut, Bailey Isom, Britney Sweetin, Summer Floyd, Halle Davis, Janelynn Wirth, Olivia Mouser, Darcey McGuire, Mackenzie Keller, Maddie Magruder, and manager Jennifer Whetzel. They are coached by Andrea Keller.
The state semifinals are also scheduled for Saturday, while the third-place and state championship games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. on March 15 at Maroa-Forsythe High.
