TWIN CITY 6, BELLEVILL 1; TRENTON 7, TWIN CITY 5, NINE INNINGS — The Twin City Post 1167 baseball team split a pair of road games over the weekend, beating Belleville Friday and losing to Trenton on Saturday.
Twin City is now 13-3-1 and will return to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Jerseyville at Roxana Park, its third and final home game of the season. Two weeks ago, Twin City beat Jerseyville 7-5 on the road.
Twin City will play in the Greater Midwest Baseball World Series from June 30-July 3 in St. Louis.
Spencer Heinemann was Twin City's top performer against Belleville on Friday. At the plate, he went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a walk. He also was the winning pitcher, giving up one run and four hits, striking out five, walking none and throwing 70 pitches in seven innings of work.
Blake Vandiver went 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored, Zack Seymour went 2 for 4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base, Blake Marks and Blake Weishaupt each went 2 for 4 with a run scored, Blake Lawson went 2 for 4 with a stolen base and two runs scored, Tanner Davis went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Randy Skiff went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
