Keynote Speaker Event Jewish Community Center Theo Bikel, known to most as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, will open the 2014 St. Louis Jewish Book Festival.
Bikel will depart from the traditional interview format, opting instead to directly address and perform for the crowd. Bikel will also discuss his book, Theo: An Autobiography. In it, the award-winning performer discusses his numerous roles on stage and screen, including 2,000+ performances as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, the original Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, and Zoltan Karpathy in My Fair Lady. His recently released film is, Theodore Bikel: In the Shoes of Sholom Aleichem.
