Alton Educational Foundation membership levels begin at $5 per year.
Founded in 2001, the Alton Educational Foundation’s mission is to enhance educational opportunities, support academic excellence and encourage student achievement in the Alton School District.
The foundation achieves its mission primarily by providing grants to teachers for novel teaching methods. Since its inception, the foundation has provided more than $100,000 in teacher grants and student scholarships. Today, even greater need exists as Illinois continues to be plagued with fiscal woes that delay timely payments to schools, while simultaneously requiring new national programs to improve overall learning. Funding for the implementation of new federal standards creates a need, and an opportunity for the community to help.
In response to these current and future educational needs, the foundation has announced the launch of its Guardians of Education campaign, offering community members an opportunity to aid the educational opportunities of Alton students.
Membership levels begin at just $5 per year. Every dollar raised will go to fund programs to raise academic excellence and promote student achievement. Forms will be available at all Alton schools, or members can join by visiting www.altoned.org and select the “Membership” tab.
