ALTON — The 12th Annual Praying Women Conference will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, and Saturday, Nov. 8, at the First Christian Church, 760 Washington Ave. in Alton.
Women of all denominations are invited to equip and encourage one another through repentance, praise, prayer and use of spiritual power.
The annual two-day conference will be addressing women’s roles in ministry and society. Women will also be informed on how they can use their strengths, gifts and abilities to overcome obstacles and transform their lives in a positive, purposeful and exciting way,
The theme “Prayer, Praise, Purpose and Prosperity” will be evident in workshops facilitated by Evangelist Pamela Wright of “Women of Warfare Ministries” of Shreveport, La.; Dr. Elise Barnett of Oasis Apostolic Ministries in St. Louis, the Rev. Kathy Smith of House of Victory Ministries in Cottage Hills, the Rev. Melissa Thomas of Glen Carbon and Minister Joyce Elliott of ACHAMPS’ Ministries in Alton.
The Friday agenda begins at 4 p.m. with registration and authors discussing their recent publications. Health screenings will be offered and local entrepreneurs will discuss their products. A public worship service at 6 p.m. will feature keynote speaker Evangelist Wright.
The Saturday agenda begins with 8 a.m. registration and coffee hour and Praise and Worship at 9 a.m. Workshops begin at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is $30; the deadline has been extended to Oct. 25. On-site registration is $40. To pre-register, call (618) 462-7015 or (618) 954-9458.
