ALTON — The Alton Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify an armed robbery suspect.
The suspect in an armed robbery at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schwegel’s Market, 901 N. Alby St., is described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall, wearing a black shirt, khaki pants and armed with a revolver. Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Alton Police Department at (618) 463-3505.
As the suspect fled the scene southbound on foot he ran into a red Ford Explorer at the intersection of Alby and Ninth streets. The owner or driver of the vehicle is encouraged to call Alton police to assist in the investigation.
