ALTON — With just six weeks to go until the annual $50,000 Marquette Catholic High School Mega Raffle drawing, organizers say they have reached 15 percent of their goal.
To help make up the difference, a Marquette party will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Johnson’s Corner, 2000 State St., Alton. Food and drinks will be available. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the party or online anytime with a credit or debit card at www.marquettecatholic.org/megaraffle. A ticket does not have to be purchased to attend the party.
Before the party, the Blue-Gray Games will be held at 6 p.m. at Public School Stadium, 1513 State Street; the football and boys soccer teams will each have a scrimmage, the cheerleaders and dance teams will perform and fall sports will be introduced at the annual fall Pep Rally. The entire Marquette community is encouraged to attend and will have free admission.
People who purchase tickets before 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, can win two “club level” tickets to a St. Louis Blues game with drinks and food included. The tickets are courtesy of American Family Insurance Agent and Marquette supporter Gerard Fischer. Everyone who buys a ticket before Sept. 5 will be included in the first $1,000 “early bird” drawing sponsored by Carrollton Bank.
