
Margot E. Walker
Margot E. Walker, 65, of Elsah, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at her residence with family by her side.
She was born in Pirmasens, Germany, on Feb. 4, 1949, the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Weirwein) Schmidt.
She married Claude Walker on Oct. 26, 1967, in Pirmasens, Germany.
Margot worked at JC Penney in the draperies and window department. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the American Legion Post 126 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Claude; two children, Sylvia (Brian) Russell of Godfrey and Alexander (Alice) Walker of Godfrey; four grandchildren, Emily and Aaron Russell, Grant and Eric Walker, all of Godfrey; along with two brothers, Gerhard and Günter Schmidt; and two sisters, Christa Schmidt and Helga Mayer, all of Germany.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
