Paul Leonard Danco, 96, of Granite City, passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Granite Nursing and Rehabilitation in Granite City.
He was born January 19, 1917 in East St. Louis, a son of the late Andrew H. and Anna (Lehotan) Danco.
Paul married Vivienne (Davis) Danco on August 30, 1946 in Chicago and she survives.
He was an avid carpenter and retired from Granite City Army Depot in 1970 after 25 years of dedicated service and later retired from St. Louis County Government Center in 1984. The United States Army veteran proudly served his country during World War II and was also a faithful member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Granite City.
He had a strong passion for woodworking and enjoyed making cabinets and helping build family homes. He will be remember for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In additions to his beloved and cherished wife of 67 years, he is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Richard Skirball of Granite City and Paula and Vince Arconati of Granite City; five grandchildren and their spouses; four great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Services were through Irwin Chapel, 3460 Maryville Road in Granite City.
