Peggy J. Alldredge, 80, of Marine, passed away at 3:31 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Liberty Village in Maryville.
She was born Feb. 4, 1934, in East St. Louis, the daughter of the late Earl Harry and Hazel Irene (Hurst) O’Neil. She married Billie G. Alldredge on June 20, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., and he passed away on Aug. 29, 2006.
She retired from the Triad School District after 27 years of dedicated and loving service as a school bus driver.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy and enjoyed her days of cooking, baking and listening to her Elvis music. She cherished her years as a bus driver and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Meyers of Washington, Mo.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Mary Alldredge of Marine, Michael and Beth Alldredge of Edwardsville and Jeffrey and Jene Alldredge of Edwardsville; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Amy Meyers, Kim and Brian Copeland, Jennifer and Rick Box, Dustin and Chelsey Alldredge, Kristen and Brian Elder, Derek and Cayle Alldredge, Lindsey and Chris Wasser, Brock Alldredge, Leah Alldredge, Taylor Alldredge, Addison Alldredge, Brooklyn Alldredge and Kaden Alldredge; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Howard and Barb O’Neil of Missouri, Ralph O’Neil of California and Raymond and Cheryl O’Neil of Shiloh, Ill.; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Curt Meyers.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, with her grandson, Mark Meyers, officiating.
