William M. “Bill” Fallis Jr., 87, of Edwardsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 23, 1927, in Alicia, Ark., a son to the late William M. and Lura C. (Montgomery) Fallis Sr.
Bill was the owner and operator of Bill’s Mobile Station in Granite City and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Caseyville. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in his free time enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Kathleen (Edwards) Fallis, who he married on Oct. 18, 1946; his sons, Kevin and (Michelle) Fallis of Alhambra, Dale and (Lori) Fallis of Glen Carbon; daughter, Donna and (Ron) Bates of Greenwood, Ind.; grandchildren, Ronda and (Doug) Starr, Dawn Bates and husband (Ryan Mangus), Ryan Bates, David Bates, Shannon Fallis, Dane Fallis; great-grandchildren, Jillian Starr, Cameron Starr, Lauren Starr; brother, Darrel Fallis; and sisters, Bonnie Babcock, Carol Bopel.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Pauline Dent, Willene McKinney, Minni Lou Ivey, Maxine Morgan, and Linda Lee.
Friends may call on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. In celebration of his life, services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014 at noon at the funeral home with Pastor James Kerr officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to Central Baptist Church, 9652 U.S. 40, St. Jacob, IL 62281.
