Alton's Tyler St. Peters lets the South Division's only goal of the night slip past him in the first period.
After a snow storm postponed Tuesday night’s game, the North and South 2A All-Stars took to the East Alton Ice Rink for a battle between some of the area’s top hockey players.
The North Division quickly ran away with the game, starting off with a goal from Edwardsville’s Tyler Hinterser seven minutes into the first period.
Civic Memorial’s Brayden Emerick gave the North their second goal shortly after, assisted by Edwardsville’s Justin Warta.
But the South answered back near the end of the first period with a goal by Triad’s Tim Faulkner. But that was all the South could put forth, with a hot streak by Alton's Alex Rubin set to begin in the second period.
Rubin led the North in scoring with three goals, with Edwardsville’s Drew Lewis and Civic Memorial’s Stephen Sitze each contributing a goal as well.
The North Division was coached by Alton’s Larry Thatcher, Edwardsville’s Jason Walker, Civic Memorial’s Drew Retzer and Granite City’s Frank Parker.
