Ty A. Bechel has been writing the AdVantage column "Restoring the Soul" since 2019. Outside of being an avid writer, Bechel is also the Executive Director for Amare, a local Recovery Community Organization (RCO) that provides education, awareness, community assistance, and recovery support services to individuals and families inflicted by addiction. He is a firm believer that nearly anyone struggling with any type of hardship can turn their life around provided with the proper tools, especially the tool of changing their perception and outlook on life. Bechel found this to be true when he escaped his travesty and downward spiral brought on by the devastation drug addiction caused. Authoring two books and working on his third since what felt like personal transmigration, he is also a public speaker on topics on finding strength, practicing persistence, and learning from adversities to change the way we see the world to improve our overall wellness. Ty resides in Alton with his fiancé, Taylor, and five children, Dorie, Allie, Bryce, Brody, and Everleigh.
